Crim Theater, Kilgore, 11 December 2008

In early 2008 the museum in Longview thought it would make sense for me to be part of a show that showcased the work of East Texas artists, even though I hadn’t lived there in a zillion years. I was happy to be included and organized 72 black and white prints of East Texas, which I donated to the museum. I visited the museum in December 2008 to work out some details and managed to spend all the time I wasn’t at the museum on the road accumulating more photographs for what I intended to become a serious exploration of this part of Texas. On this trip I began at the western terminus of Highway 80, near Dallas, and headed east.
